Warm. Sunny. Gay.
Yes, Palm Springs once again.
John and I had met Mike and Jimmy in Palm Springs way back in November of 2021 when a group of friends rented the Sonny and Cher house. We have visited them in Chicago and traveled with them several times. Mike and Jimmy rented a beautiful mid-century modern home for a week in Palm Springs and invited us to join them during their stay.
Great food, nice hikes, fun shopping (and a ton of wine) made for a wonderfully relaxing time.

For those that know me, you know I love my car. I had my 2018 Mercedes GLA 250 ordered and shipped to the USA with every bell and whistle available at the time. It also came is the most beautiful copper color. Her name is Pfennig (Penny in German). On April 23rd this year, she had to have a brand new rear differential installed (like all of us she is way too young for this much major work). The procedure was a success, but it triggered a cascade of warning lights to begin to appear when driving. She went back in for a wiring hub replacement. Apparently all was good. Unfortunately, it only took 1 block away from the Mercedes Service before I was rear ended at a stop light. It could have been a lot worse; I saw the truck coming up behind me and gunned my car through the intersection to try to get away from him. Impact happened, but no one was hurt. I literally drove the damaged car right back to the dealership after filling out the police paperwork. A “new” Pfennig emerged just a few weeks later. Unfortunately, the cascade of warning lights also returned. Days became weeks which became months. Finally in mid-August after more than 4 months without my baby, they found the sensor that was causing all of the issues.

John and I are always evolving our house and landscaping. We did so much in the past two years to create an outdoor oasis in the back yard, so we knew it when we saw it! The look and sound of our new basalt fountain was perfect.
June 2026
Pride and Paso. June kicked off with a very fun pride weekend in Indianapolis. A fashion show fundraiser kicked off the weekend, but was followed with an amazing pride parade.
Then shortly thereafter, we made an excursion out to Paso Robles, California wine country with Leonard, Jeremy, Scott, and Chris. Paso is the wild west of wine country- wineries are not stuffy. They don’t follow the rules. They have fun, so we did too!
